Kamanu Composites
Kamanu Composites recently began limited production of its first Va'a, the Aukahi. In the spirit of a traditional V-1, the Aukahi features an open cockpit and no rudder. The unique hull shape of the Aukahi is the result of numerous iterations of computer-aided design along with on-the-water testing of maneuverability and surfing ability. The result is a canoe that is incredibly fast in the flat water, yet loose enough to control in the roughest ocean conditions.
Kamanu Composites also recently opened a Kamanu Outlet at their Kailua manufacturing facility. The highlight of the store is its selection of organic cotton branded T-shirts. However, the growing Kamanu line also features branded jerseys, hoodies, and hats. Supplemental to the clothing are a limited variety of paddling accessories. Kamanu Composites is located in the Kapa'a Quarry industrial district in Kailua, and is open from 7:30am-10:00pm Monday-Friday, with limited hours on the weekends. Visitors are strongly encouraged to stop by for a tour and to check out the Kamanu Outlet. Online ordering is available at kamanucomposites.com.

Kai Waa
The XM is the newest canoe in the Scorpius family. All we did was downsize the Scorpius to have a more medium-sized canoe. Our goal is to accommodate all size of paddlers with the same design, so to speak. We will be coming out with a smaller Scorpius for women by next season too. We feel we have a great design and don't need to recreate anything. We are also in a new shop with more space, so we are able to bump up production as well. Visit kaiwaa.com for more details

Outrigger Connection
The Osprey is the newest and most radical OC1 to come out of Outrigger Connection. A major motivation in creating the Osprey was low-volume. This is depicted in a key feature that strikes you visually right away, the extremely narrow foot well area. This allows you to paddle closer to the hull of the canoe, enabling you to get more power and leverage with each stroke!
Other key features include a re-designed ama, a sliding seat, a seat area draining system, and a front and rear bungee storage system.
